How does Ring Widget work?

Ring Widget connects to your Oura account through Oura's official API to display your health data as widgets on your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. The app fetches data directly from Oura's cloud servers - there is no direct connection between this app and your Oura Ring hardware.

What data can I see in the widgets?

Ring Widget can display the following metrics from your Oura account:

• Activity Score and daily steps
• Sleep Score and sleep stages
• Readiness Score
• Ideal Bedtime window
• Body Temperature trend
• Cardiovascular Age
• VO2 Max
• Daytime Stress levels

How do I connect my Oura account?

Open the Ring Widget app and tap "Connect Oura Ring". You'll be redirected to Oura's secure login page where you can sign in with your Oura account credentials. After authorization, you'll be redirected back to the app and your widgets will start showing your data.

How often does the widget data update?

Widgets refresh automatically approximately every 15 minutes. iOS controls widget refresh timing to optimize battery life, so updates may occasionally be less frequent.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Ring Widget uses OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication. Your Oura password is never shared with us - you sign in directly with Oura. Authorization tokens are stored in your device’s Keychain. Our server temporarily handles tokens during sign-in and refresh, but does not store them or use them to retrieve your health data.

Can the developer see my Oura health data?

Ring Widget reads your Oura data on your device to display widgets. We, the developer, do not collect or store your health metrics on our servers. Limited product and subscription analytics exclude your health metrics.

Why do I see "Tap to connect" on my widget?

This message appears when the app needs to reconnect to your Oura account. Tap the widget to open the app and reconnect. This can happen if your authorization expires or if you revoked access in your Oura account settings.

Is Ring Widget affiliated with Oura?

No. Ring Widget is an independent third-party app that uses Oura's public API. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Oura Health Oy.
